Minister Joly to welcome Swedish counterpart to Canada

Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will host the visit of Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde, from May 4 to 6, 2022. This will be Minister Linde's first official trip to Canada.

Minister Joly will meet with Minister Linde to build on the already strong relationship between their countries. The ministers will discuss a number of key issues, including President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, cooperation in the Arctic, justice and accountability for victims of Flight PS752 and promoting democracy and countering disinformation.

The ministers will also take the opportunity to convene a public armchair discussion to reiterate their commitment to strong cooperation on global issues, including the world's stability and the importance of feminist foreign policies.

Canada is committed to reinforcing our already strong transatlantic relationship with Sweden and other partners.
