Missing Distraction Device, Kirwan

The Queensland Police Service is seeking assistance from the public to help locate a missing distraction device.

During a routine weapons audit of a specialised unit the device was discovered missing following the police response to an indent at Elphinstone Drive, Kirwan on Sunday March 12.

Police have carried out extensive searches this afternoon, which will continue throughout the night, however, have been unable to locate the device.

The Device is not a lethal device but has the capacity to cause injury to a person in close proximity if the Device is handled incorrectly.

Members of the public who have information about the location of this Device may not know the significance of such a piece of equipment and are urged not to tamper with it and call police immediately. In keeping with the Police standards a review will be conducted into the circumstance of the matter.
