Moira Shire Council Launches New Emergency Dashboard

A new online resource putting important information at residents' fingertips has been launched by Moira Shire Council.

The Emergency Dashboard brings together live data and information from more than a dozen trusted agencies and service providers.

These include the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Victoria SES, VicEmergency, the Bureau of Meteorology, VicTraffic, Powercor, Goulburn Valley Water, North East Water, Goulburn-Murray Water, Parks Victoria, the Department of Health, and communications providers NBN and Telstra.

Residents can see current fire danger ratings, active emergency incidents, weather warnings, road closures, power outages, water service interruptions, school closures, active relief centre locations and more - without needing to navigate multiple websites or apps.

An interactive map displays emergency incidents, planned disruptions and unplanned disruptions within Moira Shire in real time.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the Emergency Dashboard has been developed to help the community stay informed and prepared - particularly during the warmer months, when the risk of fires, floods and severe weather events increases.

"Emergencies don't come with a warning, but being prepared can make all the difference," Dr Emonson said.

"This dashboard is a valuable tool, and we hope residents will use its many features.

"But when there is an emergency, we urge people to always use the VicEmergency app and listen to your local ABC radio station for the most up-to-date information."

The dashboard supports 14 languages - including Chinese, Hindi, Vietnamese, Filipino and Thai - reflecting the diversity of the Moira Shire community and ensuring that information is accessible to as many residents as possible.

The dashboard also features live social media feeds from key emergency and government agencies, and links to listen online to local emergency broadcasters ABC Shepparton (97.7 FM) and ABC Goulburn Murray (106.5 FM).

To access the Emergency Dashboard, find the link on the Moira Shire website homepage at https://www.moira.vic.gov.au

It is free to use and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be accessed on any device - desktop, tablet or mobile.

In an emergency, always refer to the VicEmergency app and your local ABC radio station. If you are in immediate danger, always call Triple Zero (000).
