Moira Shire Council is seeking feedback from residents on a new draft plan outlining goals and strategies to strengthen the health and wellbeing of the community.
The draft Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025 – 2029 outlines positive changes that Council aims to deliver over the next four years in partnership with community organisations and agencies.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said community feedback would help Council refine the actions and priorities that matter most to the community.
"The Health and Wellbeing Plan is about local people shaping local health outcomes. It recognises the resilience, connection and care that defines Moira Shire, while also acknowledging the barriers of distance, limited transport and an aging population," Dr Emonson said.
"Health and wellbeing are something we build together as a community, so we encourage everyone in the community to read the draft plan and share their feedback. Together, we can build strategies to improve access to services, support vulnerable groups and strengthen the community."
Residents can read the draft plan and provide feedback on Moira Matters https://www.moiramatters.com.au/municipal-public-health-and-wellbeing-plan-2025
until Thursday 18 September.
Information Sessions will also be carried out across the shire to provide the opportunity for in person discussion and feedback.
