The Centre for Medicine Use and Safety (CMUS) at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) has been successful in the bid to host the 2026 Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology (ACPE).
This flagship Asian event of International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) will be held at Monash Parkville Campus from 30 October to 1 November 2026.
The conference will bring together more than 300 researchers, global leaders, clinicians and policymakers from across the Asia-Pacific.
The event will boost global collaboration in pharmacoepidemiology and related disciplines including pharmacovigilance, health economics and data sciences, and will involve high-quality educational sessions, and keynote lectures.
Associate Professor Jenni Ilomäki from Monash University's CMUS, who will be the Conference Chair said, "rapid advances in access to electronic health data in the Asia-Pacific is transforming medication safety and effectiveness research. We're looking forward to welcoming our international colleagues, sharing these advances, and discussing new opportunities."
CMUS Director, Professor Simon Bell said, "hosting the conference in Melbourne for the first time is an important step in building research capacity in pharmacoepidemiology in Australia. The importance of rigorous pharmacoepidemiological studies investigating post-marketing safety and effectiveness is rapidly gaining recognition. Our conference will have a special focus on providing opportunities for early to mid-career researchers."
Registration is open from March 2 and abstracts submissions close on June 12.
