More than 25,000 daily commuters are set to benefit from a new dual-lane roundabout now open at the busy intersection of Morley Drive and Bath Road.

Delivering on a $10 million WA Labor Government election commitment, the new roundabout will significantly reduce congestion, improve safety and traffic flow in the busy area.

In addition to the new roundabout and local road modifications, street lighting and shared paths at the intersection have also been improved.

Pedestrian safety has been carefully considered, with median refuges provided on all three legs of the intersection.

Landscaping works will be undertaken by the City of Bayswater to further enhance the area.

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

"Our government is delivering millions of dollars in upgrades to local roads right across our State to improve safety, traffic flow and bust congestion.

"Traffic modelling shows this new dual-lane roundabout is predicted to reduce the number of crashes at this busy location by more than 83 per cent.

"This will deliver a significant benefit for the community and is part of our government's ongoing investment to improve the safety and efficiency of our road network."

As stated by Morley MLA Amber-Jade Sanderson:

"There has long been concern about safety at this intersection. The new roundabout will significantly improve safety and access for local residents around the Bath Road area.

"I'm proud to deliver this important election commitment, which will make the daily commute smoother for locals and improve safety for all road users."
