Townsville City Council crews will be conducting city-wide mosquito treatments following the rainfall over the weekend.
Ground and aerial treatments will begin tomorrow and continue during the wet weather to control the population of mosquitos in the area.
Council staff will monitor any known mosquito breeding sites over the coming weeks to minimise any impact on the community.
Council recommends residents take precautions against mosquito bites such as wearing long clothing, using insect repellent and emptying any pooled water around the yard.
