Police spotted a motorcycle travelling at speed north along Salisbury Highway, Salisbury about 3.45pm on Tuesday 31 March. The rider pulled up outside a Salisbury address and, on seeing police in the street, ran into a house.

The motorcycle was displaying flip down, retractable, altered plates.

Police entered the house and discovered the rider's backpack, which allegedly contained a firearm. While searching for the rider, officers also found a number of knives inside the house.

The rider was eventually located hiding under a rainwater tank in the backyard.

The 29-year-old Salisbury man was arrested and charged with riding while unlicensed, disqualified, unregistered, uninsured and with a device to modify number plates, resist arrest, possess a firearm without a licence and possess prohibited weapon.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 1 April.
