A motorcyclist has died in a crash involving an SUV about 90km east of Mudgee yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Bylong Valley Way, Murrumbo, about 1.15pm (Monday 18 May 2026), but the 72-year-old rider had died at the scene.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and commenced inquiries.
Police have been told the man was riding north-west when it appears he may fallen from the bike on a sweeping left-hand bend and slid into the path of an oncoming SUV. The rider suffered critical injuries and was unable to be revived.
The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old man, and his passengers were not injured.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
