Motorcyclist Fails to Stop in Western Suburbs

A motorcycle rider was reported for traffic offences after alleged riding off from police at Mansfield Park this evening.

Police were patrolling the Mansfield Park area around 7.20pm on Wednesday 25 March when they spotted a motorcycle travelling without lights on Hanson Road.

They tried to pull over the bike, which was also displaying unassigned plates, with the registration plates belonging to a sedan.

The rider allegedly rode off east along Grand Junction Road, before doubling back and heading west.

Patrols quickly tracked down the motorcycle to an Angle Park address, where the rider dumped the bike and ran inside.

He was quickly apprehended by police.

Police checks revealed he was disqualified from driving, and the motorbike was unregistered and uninsured.

The 35-year-old Angle Park man was reported for failing to stop for police, riding while disqualified, unregistered, uninsured and with unassigned plates.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

His Yamaha motorcycle was impounded for 28 days and towed from the scene.
