Mount Morgan residents are being asked to limit water consumption to support the recovery of local water reserves following recent firefighting operations.
The town's water supply has played an important role in supporting multiple firefighting operations across Mount Morgan over the last few days, resulting in lower reservoir levels.
While there is currently no threat to the town's water supply, residents are being asked to limit non-essential water use until further notice, to help replenish reserves.
Residents can help by:
- Postponing lawn and garden watering where possible.
- Avoiding washing vehicles, driveways and outdoor hard surfaces.
- Reducing shower times.
- Running dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads.
- Being mindful of water use throughout the home.
At this stage, the request is precautionary and voluntary and Council crews will continue to monitor reservoir levels closely and assess the need for any further measures.
Council thanks residents for their understanding and assistance and will provide an update once reserves have been replenished.
