Spectators at Griffith Regional Sports Centre (GRSC) will now enjoy a closer, more immersive experience thanks to a newly upgraded moveable grandstand.
Previously fixed in one position, the grandstand kept crowds at a distance from the action on the show court. Following community feedback, GRSC has transformed the structure into a moveable grandstand, allowing seating to be positioned closer to the court and tailored to different events.
The upgrade improves sightlines, atmosphere and flexibility, ensuring fans feel part of the game rather than spectators from afar.
GRSC Manager Ché Jenkins said the improvement was driven directly by user feedback.
"We heard from our community that the previous setup wasn't ideal for spectators, especially during major events," Mr Jenkins said.
"By making the grandstand moveable, we can now bring fans closer to the action, create a better atmosphere and adapt the space for different sports and events. It's a big win for both players and supporters."
The enhanced grandstand will make its debut at the GIANTS v Queensland Firebirds Suncorp Super Netball pre-season match on Sunday, 1 February 2026, giving fans the chance to experience the upgrade firsthand.
