Multiple armed robberies at Springfield

Ipswich detectives have released vision of three armed robberies that occurred at the same licensed venue on Springfield Parkway, Springfield in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

All three robberies involved firearms being presented at employees or patrons and cash stolen from the premises.

On February 25, 2019, around midnight, three men entered the premises and stole a cash register before threatening a male patron with a firearm and attempting to steal his bag with one of the offenders allegedly punching the man, causing minor injuries.

One of the offenders allegedly assaulted the patron, causing minor injuries.

Following initial investigations, a 27-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were both charged with armed robbery and attempted robbery. The 27-year-old man was also charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs. Their matters were finalised in court last year.

On 9 September 2020 about 11.30pm, two offenders, one carrying a firearm and the other a crowbar, entered the venue and demanded cash from the patrons before exiting.
