Music festival sees 12 arrests at Coffs Harbour

Police have charged 12 people with drug offences after a music festival at Coffs Harbour on the weekend.

On Sunday 31 March 2019, a music festival was held on Jordan Esplanade which saw about 500 patrons attending the venue.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District conducted an operation and utilised a drug dog.

Fifty people were searched at the event with 12 arrested and charged in relation to 22 drug offences.

A 39-year-old Lowanna woman was charged with supplying prohibited drug (x 2), and possession of prohibited drugs (x 4).

Police will allege that she had MDMA, cocaine, ketamine and LSD in her possession. She has been granted bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday 29 April 2019.

A 22-year-old Brazilian man, currently residing in Queensland was charged with the possession of MDMA and cannabis.

He was bail refused to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today (Monday 1 April 2019).

Eight other people were issued cannabis cautions after they were detected with the drug.

Three other patrons were removed from or denied entry to the venue, due to intoxication.
