Whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out, the much-loved Grass Roots Open Mic competition is back at Griffith Regional Theatre on Sunday 10 August and organisers are calling on musicians of all ages to join in.
With two categories, Under 21s and Open, the competition celebrates musical talent across generations. Prizes will be awarded in Best Original Song, Best Performance and Judge's Choice, with six awards in total. Artists can perform originals or covers.
"Grass Roots is all about community, creativity and discovering local talent," said Theatre Manager Marg Andreazza. "
"We encourage local performers to enter. We unearthed some amazing talent last year. We look forward to seeing who takes to the stage for the 2025 competition."
Grass Roots has helped launch the careers of regional musicians, offering a valuable platform to gain experience and exposure.
Returning judges include founder Ben Ceccato, along with Luke Piccolo and Bonnie Owen, who have been judging the event since its inception in 2019.
