Myall Lakes Parks Reopen for School Holidays

Keen campers can enjoy Myall Lakes National Park these holidays as some of the campgrounds have reopened after the recent heavy rain.

Bookings are open to pitch a tent at Korsmans Landing Campground, Violet Hill Campground and Yagon Campground, as well as boat-based campgrounds at Rivermouth and Freshwater.

Within Myall Lakes National Park, both Mungo Brush and Dees Corner campgrounds remain closed due to flood damaged toilets, barbecue areas and roads.

Sites with significant damage will be closed until September school holidays.

While some national parks between Old Bar and Hawks Nest, and west of Wingham, are closed due to flood-damaged roads, landslips and erosion, many reserves remain open.

Some facilities including boat ramps and wharves may be closed for assessment.

Reserves that are open to visitors include:

  • Khappinghat Nature Reserve
  • Khappinghat National Park
  • Saltwater National Park
  • Myall Lakes National Park
  • Wallamba Nature Reserve
  • Wallingat Nature Reserve.

We encourage visitors to plan ahead and check the nationalparks.nsw.gov.au website to help organise their trip and check park closure updates on the NSW national parks alerts page.
