Goals, drama and non-stop entertainment. For a second consecutive day, elite Futsal took over the Melbourne Sports Centre in Parkville as the action picked up right where it left off.
Football QLD took a commanding lead in the AWD All-Abilities Division, retaining their 100% winning record with dominant displays against NSW Lightning and NSW Thunder. The side have scored a remarkable 41 goals in three games, while conceding only 10. Football Victoria retained second spot after an entertaining 4-4 draw with Football SA.
Football QLD also held top spot in Group A of the Under 12 Boys, defeating Football NSW Lightning 7-4 in a highly entertaining encounter. Football SA won two from two, including a 4-3 thriller over Football Tasmania to finish the day in second.
In Group B, Football Victoria built on their impressive first day win by putting 10 past NSW Country. The win sees the Vics take top spot while NSW Thunder bounced back from an opening day defeat to down Gold Fields WA 8-3.
There were six games in the Under 13 Boys Division today, with some brilliant free flowing Futsal on display. Football QLD ended the day as the only undefeated team, winning their fourth consecutive game - most impressively a 6-1 win over second placed NSW Metro.
Capital Football and NSW Country are both yet to get off the mark but do playoff tomorrow in what will feel like a genuine six-pointer as both teams will still take plenty of hope into Matchday 3.
The Under 13 Girls Group A is delicately poised after Football SA and Capital Football played out a 5-5 draw. Both teams lost their opening matches by the slimmest of margins and will feel capable of reversing their luck. Football QLD look set to progress to the next stage after edging NSW Thunder 4-2.
Group B saw Football Victoria claim top spot after bagging seven against NSW Country. Neither Gold Fields WA or NSW Lightning could break the deadlock in their 2-2 draw leaving the group wide open for a grandstand finish in tomorrow's games.
NSW Thunder and Football QLD maintained their perfect starts in Under 14 Boys Group A, while in Group B Capital Football built on a strong opening day performance, beating Football Victoria 4-2 to finish the day in top spot.
In two of the 9AM kick-offs of the day, Football NSW Thunder took top spot in the Under 15 Girls Group A after a narrow 2-1 win against Capital Football.
Group B is certainly proving one of the groups to watch, with a genuine three horse race emerging. Football SA and Football NSW share the lead after their 3-3 draw today. With both teams having an identical goal difference there has been nothing to separate the sides so far. Football Victoria are a point off the leaders after a 5-3 win against NSW Lightning
The spoils are currently being shared in the Under 15 Boys, with Football Victoria and Football NSW sitting at the summit on six points each. Victoria does have a game in hand having not played today, while Football SA's 4-3 win over Goldfields WA sees them jump to third.
In possibly the tightest division at the Championships, the Under 16 Boys has four team out of its six deadlocked on two wins.
The three matches were unpredictable as they were entertaining, with Football SA's 6-2 win over Football Victoria, Football NSW Metro's 2-0 win over Football QLD and NSW Country's 7-0 battering of Football Tasmania setting up a mammoth Matchday 3.
In the Boy's Youth division Gold Fields, WA and Football QLD share top spot after earning tough 4-3 wins against Capital Football and Football Victoria respectively.
The Under 17 Girls Group A ended with two standout sides, as Capital Football downed QLD 4-2 and NSW Thunder put nine past Football SA. In Group B NSW Lightning backed up their opening day win with a 3-1 victory over NSW Country, While Football Victoria edged Goldfields WA 4-2 in a tight contest.
Capital Football also put their best foot forward in the Open Women's Division, winning both games 5-3 and 5-1 respectively to end the day undefeated. Football Victoria beat NSW Thunder 4-1 in the battle between second and third, with both teams now sitting on six points.
The Open Men's Division started with a cracking battle between NSW Thunder and Football West, with the Thunder winning 2-1 to claim top spot in the group. Football Victoria sit in second, with a game in and in today's only other match Football QLD defeated NSW Lightning 4-1 to firmly stay in the hunt.
