"Ai Group welcomes the release of the Resources Technology & Critical Minerals Processing National Manufacturing Priority road map. Australia has significant endowments of critical minerals and there is a large potential for manufacturers up the value-chain in processing, separating, refining, and other manufacturing capabilities," Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group, said today.
"Electronics, telecommunications, electric vehicles, space and defence sectors are heavily reliant on the supply of rare earths and critical minerals such as lithium, graphite and cobalt.
"There are significant opportunities for Australian manufacturers to move move-up the value chain and increase the value of our critical mineral exports," Mr. Willox said.
