Some of the best swimmers from Australia and the world will descend on Darwin next month for the 2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships.

There's just two weeks left for people to enter, with those thinking about participating encouraged to take the plunge.

Athletes of all abilities aged over 18 can participate with locals expected to be tough opponents in the pool. The championships will take place from 3-7 May with entry free for spectators.

There are a range of categories for swimmers to enter including an open water race which will take place on Tuesday 7 May at Darwin Waterfront. The remainder of the events will be at Parap Pool, which is free for spectators to attend.

There's no qualifying times for entrants, with the aim of the competition to be fun and inclusive.

Entries close for individual events at midday 19 April and for relay events at midday 26 April.

The 2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships is supported by the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC) Event Funding Program.
