National Tree Day 2026: Bayside

Bayside residents are invited to roll up their sleeves this National Tree Day and help plant 1,000 native seedlings along the new M6 cycleway through Scarborough Park on Sunday 26 July 2026.

This exciting community planting event will contribute to the restoration of valuable native habitat, increase Bayside's urban tree canopy and enhance biodiversity along one of the area's newest active transport corridors. The native seedlings will provide food and shelter for local wildlife while creating greener, healthier and more beautiful public spaces for generations to come.

National Tree Day is Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event, offering people of all ages the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the local environment. Whether you're an experienced gardener, passionate about conservation or simply looking for a fun family-friendly activity, everyone is welcome to get involved.

It's also a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors, connect with nature, meet fellow community members and play an active role in helping create a more sustainable and resilient Bayside.

Council will provide all planting equipment, including gloves and tools, along with light refreshments for volunteers throughout the day.

Places are limited and registration is essential.
