National Tree Day: Bayside 21 July

Bayside residents can celebrate National Tree Day and help increase native plant biodiversity by planting a tree at Scarborough Park on Sunday 27 July 2025.

Scarborough Park is part of the Rockdale wetlands corridor and an important natural area containing the endangered Swamp Oak Floodplain Forest.

This National Tree Day planting will expand the natural area of vegetation at Scarborough Park, create more habitat for native animals and increase Bayside's tree canopy cover.

The event will take place near the dog park at Civic Avenue and volunteers are advised to wear clothes suitable for gardening as well as covered shoes.

Bayside Council will provide gloves, tools for planting, drinking water and snacks.
