National Weather Forecast: Dry And Sunny For Most

BOM
Hello from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for tomorrow.

So that's Wednesday, the 24th of September.

So we'll start off by taking a look at tomorrow's weather map. We have this strong high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight that extends a ridge across southern Australia, bringing generally settled and dry weather with clear skies and a lot of sunshine for the majority of the country.

Now out in the west, we've got heat building with daytime temperatures between 6 to 12 degrees above the September average, while for Tasmania, another cold front to bring a burst of strong and gusty winds and enhancing shower activity there.

So let's take a closer look around the country, state by state, starting with Queensland. A generally dry and mostly sunny day across the state, with some morning frost patches possible about the Granite Belt and just some very isolated showers about the exposed coasts in the south-east tending more scattered as we head up into the north-east tropical coast. For Brisbane, a sunny day, a top of 26 degrees.

Heading into New South Wales, it'll be a cool start with morning frost patches away from the coast through eastern and central parts of the state. Clearing to a mostly sunny day with just some isolated showers, about the southern slopes and plains, and even a possible dusting of snow about the alpine areas. For Sydney, a sunny day, a top of 25 degrees, while for Canberra morning frost clearing to a partly cloudy day, a top of 19.

Down in Victoria, we're expecting morning frost and fog patches throughout eastern parts and then isolated showers. Most likely on and south of the ranges and tending more frequent about the windward slopes and the exposed coast. It's going to be a cool to mild day with daytime temperatures near average, and for Melbourne, a cloudy day with a shower or two, a top of 17 degrees.

Down in Tasmania, showers about western and southern parts, with the passage of that cold front contracting into western parts during the evening and then starting to increase again at night as that next front approaches. Out in the east however, elsewhere, dry and partly cloudy. For Hobart, a cloudy day with showers, a top of 14 degrees.

Up into South Australia, it's going to be a cool to cold start with morning frost patches about the southern agricultural areas, clearing to a mostly sunny day apart from some light isolated showers about the exposed southern coast. For Adelaide, a partly cloudy day with a slight chance of a shower. A top of 18 degrees.

Heading into WA, we've got that heat building out in the west and starting to really spill down into the South West Land Division, but also into that southern coastal area with daytime temperatures between 6 to 12 degrees above the September average. As we head into the northern parts, however, cooler conditions with daytime temperatures between 2 to 6 degrees below the September average. Now, Perth will continue their run of dry, warm and sunny weather, a top of 29 degrees.

Moving up to the Northern Territory, a generally dry and mostly sunny day, with just the risk of a shower about the northern and eastern Top End, but we do have that south-easterly surge that is pushing up and elevating fire dangers throughout the northern interior, reaching extreme about the Barkly District. For Darwin, a sunny day, a top of 35 degrees.

Now, if you're wanting a more detailed forecast for your local area, you can head to the Bureau's website, the app or social media. Otherwise, we'll see you again next time. Bye for now.
