Navy Identifies USS Wasp Sailor Who Died of COVID-Related Complications

Aviation Support Equipment Technician 1st Class Marcglenn L. Orcullo, age 42 of Hawaii, a U.S. Navy Sailor assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD-1), homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, died of COVID-related complications Feb. 12, 2021.

NORFOLK, Va. - On Feb. 12, 2021 Aviation Support Equipment Technician 1st Class Marcglenn L. Orcullo, age 42 of Hawaii, a U.S. Navy Sailor assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD-1), homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, died of COVID-related complications Feb. 12, 2021.

Orcullo was admitted to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital on Jan. 17 where he tested positive for COVID-19. Orcullo was subsequently transferred to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on Jan. 29, where he was being treated in the ICU at the time of death.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and coworkers of Petty Officer Orcullo during this extremely difficult time, and we ask that their privacy be respected.

USS Wasp crewmembers are supported by chaplains, embedded mental health specialists, and counselors.
