NDIS Commission provides clarification on worker screening practices for employment support

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has confirmed that NDIS workers in risk assessed roles providing supports and services to NDIS participants will continue to be screened against the transition arrangements operating in their state or territory.

These arrangements will remain in place for all registered providers in all jurisdictions (except WA) until the NDIS Worker Screening Check becomes available.

Risk assessed roles include:

NDS has received clarification from the NDIS Commission on screening arrangements in three scenarios likely to arise when NDIS participants receive employment supports in mainstream work settings. In all three instances, staff of registered NDIS providers are performing in a risk assessed role (and therefore require screening), delivering specified employment supports and services to an NDIS participant.
