The Three Springs Bush Fire Brigade now officially has a new home with the opening of its new facility today by Emergency Services Minister Francis Logan.
The purpose-built $180,000 facility was a collaboration of the Shire of Three Springs, the bushfire brigade and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
For the past 20 years, the brigade had been sharing a space with the Shire of Three Springs.
This new facility gives the brigade a purpose-built base of its own to help support community safety and improve training opportunities for volunteers.
The construction of the shed was a team effort with the volunteers painting the inside and Shire staff helping with the internal fit-out.
Mr Logan also awarded the Three Springs leadership group with their five-year service medals.
As noted by Emergency Services Minister Francis Logan:
"This new facility had been on the cards for some time so it's great that the brigade finally has a new space all of its own.
"I wish them all the best with the new facility, and I hope that it will serve them well into the future as they help with community safety and build their own capacity and capabilities.
"Volunteers are the backbones of our communities and this new facility will give them the support and space they need to continue their great work."
