A new public artwork by acclaimed Thai-born Australian artist, Vipoo Srivilasa, is currently being developed for Boronia Station, bringing creativity and colour to one of the Knox's busiest public spaces.
As part of the State Government funded upgraded station precinct, the artwork will be a sculpture designed to create a welcoming and engaging environment for commuters, residents and visitors.
Known for creating joyful works that explore themes of community, culture and belonging, Srivilasa is collaborating with curator Natalie Bull from PAM Public Art, and fabrication specialists Sculpture Co to bring the project to life.
The artwork draws inspiration from the artist's distinctive creative practice, translating the detail and playfulness of his ceramic works into a permanent installation.
The project reflects Council's commitment to supporting arts and culture while enhancing public spaces across Knox, helping create places that are not only functional, but also inviting and memorable.
The artwork is currently under construction and will be installed by early 2027.
