The Finocchiaro CLP Government has appointed Territorian Andrew Macrides as the new Chair of Power and Water Corporation.Mr Macrides brings extensive public sector and utility management experience to the role, drawing on his past service as the Corporation's Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. His expertise and knowledge will help ensure the delivery of efficient and cost-effective essential services to Territorians.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government has announced the appointment of Territorian Andrew Macrides as the new Chair of Power and Water Corporation.
Treasurer and Shareholding Minister Bill Yan welcomed the appointment, highlighting Mr Macrides' extensive experience in leading roles across the Northern Territory public sector and Power and Water Corporation.
"I congratulate Mr Macrides on his appointment and look forward to working with him to deliver our government's priorities for efficient, cost-effective essential services," Minister Yan said.
Mr Macrides returns to Power and Water Corporation having previously served a 15-year tenure, including roles as Company Secretary, Chief Financial Officer, and then Managing Director from 2007 to 2013.
Most recently, he served as a permanent Senior Member of the Northern Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NTCAT), following his key role in the tribunal's legislative design.
His broader government career spans more than three decades, including early senior roles across health, housing, community services, and tourism.
He commences his new role tomorrow (1 July).
