Campaspe Shire Council has appointed Mr Declan Moore as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said he was pleased to announce Mr Moore's appointment from a field of strong candidates for the highly sought after position.
"Mr Moore comes to Campaspe as a highly qualified professional with an extensive background in local government, community services, aged care and disability services," Cr Weston said.
"He has held a number of positions in senior management roles across the education, health, management consulting and local government sectors and we look forward to welcoming him to Campaspe."
Mr Moore is currently working as a regional director in the health sector in Ireland. Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles with the City of West Torrens in South Australia for nearly 13 years.
"I am delighted to accept this position and look forward to working closely with the elected members and staff of Campaspe Shire Council to complete the delivery of Council's current four year strategic plan, while also preparing the community and Council for the development of its successor by 2021," Mr Moore said.
"As the beneficiary of fantastic mentoring and learning opportunities over many years and across the disability, health, education and local government sectors, as well as several stints in management consulting; I am confident that I will add value to the operations of Council."

Based on my interactions during the very thorough recruitment process, it is clear to me that elected members are also committed to working within that space."

Mr Moore will start with Campaspe Shire on Monday, 7 October. As well as confirming Mr Moore's appointment at tonight's Council meeting, Council also extended Mr Ray Burton as the Acting CEO through to when Mr Moore starts.
