New Consul-General in New Zealand

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Today I announce the appointment of Mr Brad Williams as Australia's Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner New Zealand and the Pacific.

This appointment will add to Australia and New Zealand's long-standing relationship, spanning cultural, economic, defence and sporting ties, as well as a strong trade and investment relationship.

New Zealand is one of the top ten investors in Australia, with two-way trade was valued at $23.7 billion in 2020.

Mr Williams joins the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) from his role as Chief Executive Officer at Australian Logistics Council.

His experience across a range of sectors including resources, energy, infrastructure, trade and agriculture will be invaluable in his new role.

I thank outgoing Consul-General for Auckland and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, the Hon Craig Knowles AM for his efforts advancing trade and investment ties across New Zealand and the Pacific.
