As Perth grows, providing a wider choice of homes in well-connected areas close to public transport will help meet different household needs and support people to stay in their communities as those needs change. It will also make better use of existing transport, services and community infrastructure.
The draft Scheme sets out proposed zoning, housing densities, building heights and other development controls. It outlines proposed changes for each precinct, helping communities understand what is being considered and landowners and industry explore potential development opportunities.
The draft Scheme forms part of Precincts WA, the State Government's coordinated approach to creating vibrant, well-connected communities around metropolitan train stations. It follows the approval of Station Precincts Improvement Plan No. 65 in July 2026.
Planning for the Redcliffe and Ballajura station precincts is progressing through separate improvement schemes.
