New CPA Australia Directors announced

Two new Directors have been appointed and one Director reappointed to CPA Australia’s Board it was announced today.

The two new Directors are Professor Dale Pinto and Ms Su-Yen Wong. Mr Ric De Santi has been reappointed to the Board.

Each Director has been appointed for a three-year term beginning 1 October 2018.

They will join existing Directors:

· Peter Wilson AM FCPA, President and Chair

· Merran Kelsall FCPA, Deputy President

· Chin Aik Wong FCPA, Deputy President

· Robyn Erskine FCPA, Director

· Helen Lorigan, Director

· Rosemary Sinclair CPA, Director

· Caroline Spencer FCPA, Director

Mr Jon Scriven did not seek reappointment to the Board and CPA Australia sincerely thanks him for his contribution since his first appointment in October 2017.

In accordance with CPA Australia’s Constitution, the Appointments Council, with representatives from each of CPA Australia’s 13 Division and Branch Councils appointed the new Directors. Membership of the Appointments Council and the Council Charter can be viewed on CPA Australia’s website.

Ric has extensive public sector experience, mainly in audit, and also brings expertise in financial reporting, governance, and executive management in both the not-for-profit and public sectors of the profession, both nationally and internationally.

Ric is presently the Deputy Auditor General and Chief Operating Officer with the Tasmanian Audit Office. He is also currently a member of the Australasian Council of Auditors-General (ACAG) technical group, the Financial Reporting and Accounting Committee and Chair of ACAG’s Heads of Financial Audit Group. He was previously a member of CPA Australia’s External Reporting Centre of Excellence and has been a registered company auditor since 1982.

Ric has served on CPA Australia's Tasmanian Divisional Council from 2005 to 2014, was President of that division in 2009, and returned to council in 2017. He was a member of CPA’s Representative council from 2013 and 2014 and continues as a member of CPA’s Public Sector Network which he joined in 2012.

Ric was first appointed to the CPA Australia Board in October 2017.
