Dubbo Regional Council is calling for Expressions of Interest to fill six positions on the new Cultural Council.
The Cultural Council will look at facilitating strategic conversations, connections and advocacy across the private sector and all levels of government in support of cultural development and access.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said Council was looking for people to bring a fresh perspective.
"The Cultural Council will focus on how we can create connections across the region in different areas, focusing on the bigger picture, dynamic ideas and regional connections.
"The Cultural Council has been designed to be an advisory body to allow community members to discuss opportunities for regional cultural growth.
"While it won't directly inform decisions of Council when it comes to decision-making for the community, those on the Cultural Council will be a link between our community and the elected body," Clr Black said.
The Expression of Interest process will see six community members selected for the body.
The Council will require two members from Social Services, which may include stakeholders from health services, community services, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, disability and aged services, and youth services.
Four members will come from regional creative practitioners and may include stakeholders from any creative, cultural or heritage service bodies, individual creative practitioners, event or program managers.
Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate strong multi-sector or interagency engagement, with the Creative Council seeking representatives with diverse experiences across multiple groups or creative sectors.
