Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre users can now manage their membership needs and book classes and appointments online following the launch of two new digital experience platforms.
Centre members can use the Perfect Gym online portal to manage their membership needs, including updating personal information and payment details, and viewing past payment records and any transaction declines.
Perfect Gym will replace Swim Desk, so parents with children enrolled in swimming lessons will be able to use the platform to manage their bookings and schedule make-up lessons.
The second platform, Technogym, is a smartphone application, which can be downloaded from Apple or Google Play stores.
It will enable Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre, SSAC, users with gym memberships to book group fitness classes, schedule personal training or exercise physiologist appointments, participate in monthly member challenges, access an on-demand exercise library, and read a monthly online magazine featuring health and fitness tips and advice.
Northern Grampians Shire chief executive Brent McAlister said the digital move was an exciting one for both centre staff and members.
"Members will no longer need to call the centre or message the SSAC Facebook page if their child is unwell or away and unable to attend a swimming lesson," he said.
"We also acknowledge it can sometimes be inconvenient trying to schedule a make-up lesson. Our new portal will resolve these areas and make the process more efficient for everyone involved.
"Other highlights for swimming lesson parents include being able to see a record of their child's swimming skills, and a single direct debit transaction for all linked accounts. If they have children in swimming lessons and have a gym membership, their fortnightly payment will include everything in the one transaction, provided their accounts are linked.
"Another benefit is there will no longer be swimming lesson fees on public holidays. Previously, if your child's lesson fell on a public holiday, you were charged for the lesson and then scheduled a make-up lesson. Moving forward, payments will not be deducted for classes scheduled on public holidays and you will resume with your next lesson as normal.
"Centre users can also update their payment details, keep track of their payments and book appointments with our personal trainers or exercise physiologist.
"The new digital platforms are designed to make our members' lives easier and offer a wide range of benefits. We are really excited to introduce these changes, which we think provide even greater value for our members."
Mr McAlister said SSAC members and parents of swimming lesson participants should have received an email detailing the digital platforms and how to create or confirm accounts.
"It is a relatively straightforward process," he said.
"Centre staff have migrated existing members onto the Perfect Gym platform, so once members confirm their Perfect Gym account, their membership details should be there to review and update where required."
Mr McAlister said once signed up, users could access their Perfect Gym account via https://northerngrampians.perfectgym.com.au/clientportal2/#/Login.
Centre users who have a gym membership can also access their Perfect Gym account via the Technogym app.
"The app has both accounts connected, which means members will not need to log in separately each time they use it," Mr McAlister said.
He said with summer around the corner, now was a perfect time to remind parents about the added benefits available to all swimming lesson students.
"Students who keep their enrolment active over summer can participate in a free intensive swim program during school holidays," he said.
"They can also enjoy free access to the pool any time it is open throughout the year along with free summer holiday activities, while parents and guardians can enjoy free pool access during the summer school holidays.
"Our younger Swim School students, aged up to five years, can attend Sensory Play sessions on Tuesdays free of charge."
