New Electoral Commissioner Sworn In

The Administrator of the Northern Territory has sworn in Ms Kirsten Kelly as the new Electoral Commissioner for the NT. She will commence in the role on 25 April 2024.

Ms Kelly will replace Mr lain Loganathan, who has held the role of Electoral Commissioner since 25 April 2014. Mr Loganathan is acknowledged for his integrity, leadership and service to the people of the Territory over many elections, during his tenure as the independent NT Electoral Commissioner.

Ms Kelly has served as the Deputy Electoral Commissioner for the NT for the past three years. During this time, Ms Kelly has managed numerous Local Government elections, Legislative Assembly by-elections and fee-for-service elections.

Prior to this, Ms Kelly held senior positions in the Northern Territory Public Service.

Ms Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Commissioner role, and she is looking forward to working with stakeholders to deliver the August 2024 Territory Election.
