New Era For Black Rock Beachgoers

The Black Rock Life Saving Club's members and volunteers have now moved into their new home.

The $5 million redevelopment commenced in September 2022. The building was in urgent need of renewal to provide modern and fit-for-purpose facilities for life savers and to accommodate both its growing membership and the increase in visitors to Black Rock Beach.

The pavilion was designed using feedback that was collected during an extensive community engagement process in 2021.

The Victorian Government contributed funding of $2 million towards the project and Black Rock Life Saving Club contributed $250,000.

Remaining works are now underway on the new car park that will provide improved access to the clubhouse and Black Rock Beach. When complete, the car park will include four standard parking bays and one accessible car park connecting to a new path to ensure the building is fully accessible.

While the car park works are underway cyclists will be detoured from the shared trail to the bay trail. The final works are scheduled to be completed by the end of July.
