- New Bentley facility to support integrated services for children and young people
- Lotterywest grants totalling $4.5 million put towards the fit-out of shared facilities
- Facility to be the home of child and youth services organisation, Uplyft, following re-brand from WANSLEA
A new era in community-based early childhood care commenced today with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility designed to support integrated services for children and young people.
The facility, located in Bentley, covers 4,000square metres over two double-storey buildings and will deliver essential services through child and youth services not-for-profit, Uplyft, formerly known as WANSLEA.
Lotterywest grants totalling $4.5 million have supported the fit-out of the new facility, which includes service delivery spaces, public-facing areas, audio-visual equipment, and modern training facilities.
Lotterywest funding has also supported the delivery of a culturally safe yarning circle, which will be a place for the community to connect and share stories.
Uplyft has been delivering services to support children, young people, and their families for more than 80 years. It will continue to deliver a broad range of services, including supporting children through the NDIS, operation of early learning services, and research, across the 23 facilities it operates in Western Australia.
The not-for-profit's rebrand is focused on making it as easy as possible for families, key stakeholders, and referrers to understand the broad, connected nature of its services.
The Cook Government will continue to support initiatives that foster thriving communities and positive early childhood outcomes.
As stated by Early Childhood Minister Sabine Winton:
"This new facility will provide improved outcomes for young people using these vital services.
"The collaboration between the Cook Labor Government, the community, and Uplyft demonstrates what can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal.
"Our government continues to invest in important infrastructure, such as this fantastic new early childhood facility.

As stated by Victoria Park MLA Hannah Beazley:

"I am proud to be part of a State Government that invests in initiatives that strengthen our communities, and I'm sure this facility will be warmly welcomed by families."
As stated by Uplyft CEO Jo Sadler:
"We at Uplyft are fully committed to locally led delivery, continuity of care, and improving outcomes for children and young people.
"The contributions made by Lotterywest and the State Government towards this outcome are truly appreciated.
"This new facility will allow us to continue our work in best practice environment, and our participants will benefit from this incredible upgrade."
