New Fraser Street Playground opening celebration this Saturday

This week the Maude Street Mall Stage 1 hoarding will be removed with the playground ready to explore in Fraser Street.

To celebrate this milestone, Greater Shepparton City Council are hosting an exciting event at the new play space in Fraser Street.

This is an event for the whole family with free kids' activities, live music and the chance to experience the brand new playground. Some local retailers and traders have organised special offerings for shoppers, so be sure to support the local businesses in the Mall and do some last minute Mother's Day shopping. The Fraser Street car park will be closed for this event.

The most obvious feature of Stage 1 is the brand new, brightly coloured play space featuring stepping stones, slide and climbing equipment. Demolition and excavation as well as concreting, landscaping and in-ground service works were also completed.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O'Keeffe said the idea to hold celebrations at the completion of each of the stages came from consultation with Mall business owners.

"It is a great way to invite the community back into the area and will be a fantastic, free event for families and anyone interested in the project," she said.
