"The Australian Industry Group welcomes the appointment of three new Members of the Expert Panel of the Fair Work Commission. The appointments are particularly timely given that initial submissions in the 2019-20 Annual Wage Review are due to be lodged tomorrow," Innes Willox, the Chief Executive of national employer association Ai Group, said today.
"The new Panel Members will add valuable economic, business and labour market experience to the Fair Work Commission. Mr Ferguson has a vast amount of experience within industry, Government and the trade union movement. Professor Wooden is one of Australia's leading labour market economists and director of the HILDA project, which provides important data for Annual Wage Reviews. Ms Labine-Romain has a great deal of relevant experience in Australia and overseas.
"We are sure that the new Panel Members will make an important contribution to the Fair Work Commission's deliberations," Mr Willox said.
