New Go-To Guide for Every Stage of IAA Journey

UK Gov

Our new guidance document brings essential information and practical advice together in one easy-to-access resource.

The IAA has published a new guidance document to help both current and aspiring advisers more easily access the information they need on registration, regulation and professional standards.

The new document responds to feedback that it has not always been easy to find the right information at the right time. By setting out key processes, requirements and regulatory expectations in one place, the IAA aims to make guidance simpler to use and easier to navigate.

Created with input from registered advisers, the guidance brings together essential information in one practical resource, providing support at every stage of the IAA adviser journey. It covers topics including:

  • applying to become an IAA-registered adviser

  • using the IAA portal

  • registration and continued registration requirements

  • raising your level of authorisation

  • professional standards and regulatory expectations

  • key processes and practical guidance for advisers

It is designed to be a first point of reference for advisers, whether they are applying for registration for the first time, preparing for continued registration, or looking to increase their level of authorisation.

This new resource reflects the IAA's commitment to improving the adviser experience through clearer guidance and practical support for meeting professional and regulatory requirements.
