The Territory Labor Government is strengthening communities by improving housing in the bush.
The community of Kintore received three brand new homes, with the keys handed over to tenants yesterday.
The community, located about 530km west of Alice Springs and home to about 482 residents, has been a hive of activity recently as construction works roll out under the $2.1 billion remote housing program.
The Territory Labor Government is building 17 new homes in Kintore with 15 completed so far. A further 24 homes will be extended and upgraded under the Room to Breathe program, with four completed so far.
Three new homes were built under previous programs, which also saw upgrades to nine homes in the Western Desert community.
The latest houses comprise a new five-bedroom home, a four-bedroom home and a three-bedroom home.
Since 2016 the Territory Labor Government has built and upgraded more than 3526 homes - including works underway - amounting to a $1 billion injection into the NT economy.
