New inclusive place to play for Tathra

Tathra now has a new community-designed Lot Stafford inclusive play space thanks to funding from the NSW Government.

The Department of Planning and Environment's Commissioner for Open Space and Parklands Fiona Morrison said Tathra's new playground is a shining example of how Everyone Can Play is delivering high quality spaces where everyone belongs.

"This play space was designed using the Everyone Can Play guideline which is assisting local councils, architects and designers to make inclusive play the norm in NSW," Ms Morrison said.

This is the fifth new inclusive playground to open across the state, with more than 30 in the pipeline to be delivered in conjunction with local councils.

The NSW Government recently provided nearly $4 million in funding to 30 councils across NSW and the 2019-20 NSW Budget has also committed $19.2 million over four years for the creation and upgrade of inclusive play spaces that everyone will be able to enjoy.
