New Kindergarten at Lilydale District School

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Education and Training

A new Kindergarten at Lilydale District School has officially opened, providing a contemporary and inspiring new learning space for the Lilydale community.

The $1.4 million project is part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's plan to improve educational outcomes and ensure that our students have contemporary learning environments.

The new Kindergarten will incorporate spaces that allow for flexible use and the interaction between the indoor and outdoor environment.

The Kindergarten playground will feature artwork designed by Ceridwen Owen and Jackson Wells, and will include numerous play-based opportunities into its structure.

The Tasmanian Government recognises the importance of early years education, and we are pleased that our youngest learners in the Lilydale community will have access to a high-quality learning facility.

This project is another success resulting from our record investment into education infrastructure in Tasmania, assisting to set our children up for the best possible start to life.
