Eight new general industrial lots are now available for sale at DevelopmentWA's Hedland Junction in the Wedgefield Industrial Estate.
Located 12km from Port Hedland, the lots range in size from 6,664m to 3.1365ha and offers small and medium businesses the opportunity to expand or establish themselves in the mining town.
All lots in the current release are titled and development ready with power, water and access to the National Broadband Network.
The civil works contract for the development was awarded to Pilbara based contractor TCD Civil Construction, which created valuable construction employment opportunities.
Since its development, Hedland Junction has seen the creation of 61 lots and is home to well-known companies such as BP, Monadelphous, Bridgestone, Qube, Toll and Komatsu.
Once fully developed, Hedland Junction will provide 399 on-going full-time jobs, with the operating businesses having an annual economic output of $177 million.
DevelopmentWA is upgrading infrastructure at the Wedgefield Industrial Estate by extending Hematite Drive to Great Northern Highway.
The heavy haulage connection to Great Northern Highway will improve ingress and egress from Wedgefield Industrial Estate.
As stated by Planning and Lands Minister John Carey:
"WA's strong economy means we continue to see demand for industrial land in Port Hedland and this latest release supports industry growth and ensures a continuing supply of industrial land into the future.
"The Cook Government recognises the importance of small and medium sized businesses to the success of regional towns and is committed to providing the land it needs to grow and succeed.
"This latest release is another example of the great work being done by the Industrial Lands Authority to support regional businesses and job creation."
As stated by Pilbara Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
"Port Hedland is an economic powerhouse, delivering benefits for Western Australia and the nation.
"The supply chain that supports the Pilbara's major mining companies is critical to that success.
"This industrial land release will facilitate business growth, add to the economic diversity of Port Hedland, and deliver more jobs to the region, all key elements of the Cook Government's economic agenda for the State."
As stated by Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel:
"We continue to see strong interest and demand in Port Hedland for land release for businesses.
"I have been advocating for this for some time. We know how important the economic impact of the Pilbara is, and this demonstrates that the State Government listens and acts.
"By making more land available, we're creating new jobs and enabling businesses to expand or establish operations."
