New look Cambridge Primary School revealed

Roger Jaensch, Minister for Education, Children and Youth

The Rockliff Liberal Government continues to invest in Tasmania's education infrastructure.

Our 2021 election commitment to redevelop Cambridge Primary School is progressing well with the release of artist renders for Stage 1 works of the $15.1 million redevelopment.

The artist renders include an aerial view of the school site featuring building extensions, as well as a street view depicting a new two-storey building containing four general learning areas.

Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch said the Rockliff Liberal Government was providing Cambridge students and staff with modern, high-quality learning facilities.

"Earlier this year, the redevelopment plan, which will be undertaken in two stages, was released for community feedback," Minister Jaensch said.

"Stage 1 delivers refurbishments to existing facilities and construction of new learning spaces, including break out spaces, sensory rooms and covered outdoor areas.

"Stage 2 will see construction of a new gymnasium and supporting facilities in collaboration with the Clarence City Council.

"The release of the construction tender for Stage 1 works is expected in late 2023, with works expected to commence in early 2024."

The renders were developed by local architects Bence Mulcahy in collaboration with the school and project team.

"Our Government is absolutely focused on taking our State to new levels, and making it the best place to live, work and raise a family" Minister Jaensch said.

"We are saying yes to game-changing infrastructure projects and developments that create jobs and opportunity for Tasmanian families, and build more connected communities.

"Redevelopment of Cambridge Primary School is part of the Government's record investment in new education infrastructure across the State, which also includes the $6.5 million redevelopment of Lauderdale Primary School, $21.6 million for upgrades to Hobart City High School, and $20 million for the revitalisation of Cosgrove High School."
