New look Local Land Services boards are getting to work following an announcement by the Minister for Agriculture and Western New South Wales, Adam Marshall.
The Minister has announced the 34 people who were successful in board elections, 29 members who were recently appointed and 16 existing ministerial appointees. See the full list here.
State-wide chair, Richard Bull continues in his role, bringing the total number of Local Land Services board members around the state to 80.
"I welcome the 11 regional Local Land Services Boards with their mix of new and familiar faces," said Mr Bull.
"Their combined skills and experience will ensure they can provide strong strategic direction to Local Land Services over the coming years," he said.
Once board members have completed an induction process, they will begin their important work of helping connect Local Land Services to the landholders and communities it serves.
Local Land Services Chief Executive Officer, David Witherdin, said the agency looked forward to working with all 11 regional boards.
"Our boards start their work together in challenging times for agriculture, the environment and communities in NSW, following drought, fires and now the impacts of COVID 19," Mr Witherdin said.
"We will seek their support as we continue adapting our business so we can best assist land managers amidst COVID 19 restrictions," he said.
Across the state, 45 per cent of the new look Local Land Services board members are women, which is well above the average 30 per cent female representation for Australia's top 200 ASX listed companies.
There are also Aboriginal members on five of the 11 boards, which is greater representation than ever before but a statistic Local Land Services will continue to work towards improving.
Mr Bull and Local Land Services also acknowledged the time, commitment and dedication the outgoing members of the board have made to the region and to Local Land Services as a whole.
