Families and golf enthusiasts across the South Coast can look forward to a brand new, one-of-a-kind mini golf course located at The Links Shell Cove.
Designed and built by GreenSpace Management for a total investment of $500k, the course will be the first ‘SHANX’ mini golf facility built in the country and is expected to generate 30,000 visits annually.
SHANX is a scaled down version of a full-size golf course, designed to be played with the same rules as golf.
The family friendly experience is designed to be both fun and challenging. It features a course to suit beginners and budding golfers, as well as a one that will test the most experienced golfers.
Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said that the new attraction was part of Council’s vision to build The Links reputation as a community entertainment hub.
“Residents and visitors come along to the Links for more than a unique golf experience. The beautiful surrounds, inviting atmosphere and delicious food at The Tavern all come together to create a vibrant community space for friends and families of all ages,” Cr Saliba said.
“The new mini golf facility is one of the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere, providing the community with an experience unlike any other,” she said.
SHANX will host a Community Open Day on Sunday 23 May from 11am to 4pm. Bring along the whole family to be one of the first to try out the new course.
There will be live music, games, performance, as well as free prizes and the chance to catch some professional golfers try out the course.
