We're upgrading the Glen Edward Rice Reserve playground in Brighton to create a more exciting, inclusive and natural space for kids to play, explore, and have fun!
The makeover begins in June and includes demolishing the existing playground, installing new equipment and making improvements to pathways, seating and landscaping.
The final design was shaped by feedback from over 100 local residents who voted to include their favourite playground features such as the basket swing, a multi-play unit and double swing set.
The design improves accessibility for people and children of all abilities and incorporates natural materials to encourage an enhanced connection with nature.
The playground will be closed for approximately six weeks, weather permitting, while we undertake the upgrade.
While we work to improve the Glen Edward Price playground, kids can continue to play at nearby William Street Reserve playground.
The upgrade is part of our Playground Improvement Plan and showcases our commitment to creating and protecting inclusive, liveable and sustainable spaces for all to enjoy.
