New Police Station Showcases Careers in Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour Police Station is opening its doors to the community tomorrow to highlight the diverse range of career opportunities that exist within the NSW Police Force.

The event will run between 10am and 2pm tomorrow (Saturday 16 August 2025) and will offer an opportunity for residents to connect with their local police, see the police facilities and resources used to support local policing activities, and explore the recruitment opportunities available within the Coffs/Clarence Police District.

The open day is part of the "You Should Be A Cop In Your Hometown" initiative, which aims to make it easier for those living in regional areas to pursue a career in the NSW Police Force while remaining close to their family, lifestyle, and community.

Attendees will gain insights into the daily operations of the police station and learn about the various benefits and incentives available for those interested in a policing career in regional areas.

Superintendent Joanne Schultz, Commander of the Coffs/Clarence Police District, said local police were excited to show the community the diverse and rewarding career opportunities that policing offers.

"The open day we held last year saw hundreds of community members visit the station, and we are looking forward to hosting the community again," Supt Schultz said.

"The open day is an excellent opportunity to explore career opportunities within the NSW Police Force and meet the officers who serve our region."

"We encourage anyone who has considered a career in policing to come along, ask questions, and discover what areas of policing pique their interest."

The event will provide information about the recruitment process, with the Police Recruitment team on hand to guide attendees through the steps to joining the NSW Police Force.

A range of NSW Police Force units, including Highway Patrol, Marine Area Command, Trail Bikes and the Dog Unit will also be at the event.
