IOP Publishing (IOPP) has launched a new website dedicated to helping researchers in China navigate the world of scientific publishing.
IOPChina will offer Chinese researchers information on their publishing options, and how IOPP can work with them in getting their latest research published. It also has a section for librarians, along with the latest news.
It is part of a wider programme of support IOPP is providing for researchers in China. Central to this are the IOP Academy workshops being run in China throughout the year. Aimed primarily at early career researchers, they cover choosing a journal; writing a paper; the peer review process; what happens after acceptance and after publication; publication ethics; Open Access; and an introduction to reviewing.
Antonia Seymour, Publishing Director at IOP Publishing, said: "We have a long history of supporting and engaging with the scientific community in China. We were the first international publishing house to open an office in China, in Beijing in 2000.
"Over the past 20 years, our team in China has continually explored new ways to help Chinese researchers with all aspects of publishing. As well as today's launch of IOPChina, our team in Beijing are also very active on WeChat and Weibo - engaging with researchers, answering their questions, and sharing the latest significant studies we've published.
"We also recently appointed the eminent physicist Professor Qi-Kun Xue, of Tsinghua University, as our Chief Scientific Advisor for China. He will help us deepen our connections to the Chinese scientific community, to enable us to learn from one another and foster greater collaboration."
