We've introduced new photo requirements for solar battery installations. This follows initial results from the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) inspections program identifying compliant labelling as a key area for improvement for solar battery installations.
This is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting safety and continuous improvement under the SRES.
All accredited battery installers are now required to provide photo evidence of compliant labelling for every solar battery installed from 1 March 2026.
We use sophisticated artificial intelligence as part of our comprehensive assessment process to make sure all claims meet the new photo requirements. Failure to provide the required photos will result in delayed processing, or rejection of small-scale technology certificate claims.
We'll continue to analyse inspection results to identify common installation issues and emerging risks so that problems can be addressed early.
